Group for modeling and optimization
Researchers in this group work on mathematical modeling and solving complex optimization problems, as well as on mathematical modeling of the behavior and improvement of various metaheuristic optimization methods. The optimization problems considered, from the fields of combinatorial and global optimization, have significant practical relevance. In addition to being studied in "pure" optimization (i.e. operations research), they are applied in various areas of computer science, including machine learning, classification, case-based reasoning, bioinformatics, and others.
